jokes asides, i wish i could say otherwise but brazil is really summed up with those two titles. rio de janeiro is a live example of that, and you can't seek peace even on rural areas because criminals realized that it's more efficient to rob them since they are distanced from any service like hospitals in case anyone is shot or the police
i have A LOT more to say about brazil but i dont think you'd be too interested on knowing. life is good if you can get more than 5k reais per month and you live in anywhere that isnt rio de janeiro though

i guess the suburbs would be the best place to be at in brazil

most places don't have suburbs, it's mainly favillas
but there is a very distinct approximation to that, streets in the middle of the city with pretty nice houses. crime is still pretty mild even on those areas though.
