Howdy nerds. I am making this thread because I constantly get the same questions relating to the new client over and over again. If this doesn't answer any questions you may have make sure to leave a reply!
What game engine does the new client use?
The new client uses the Godot engine.
Will Mac/Linux be supported?
Probably.
When will it release?
3099 (or maybe this summer)
Will I still have to portforward?
Nope.
Will Brick Hill ever come on mobile?
Maybe in the future. We currently have no plans for mobile devices.
Can I test the new client?
It is closed testing. Testing is closed. We will ask you to test if we want you to test. The answer is no. Stop asking me this.
What scripting language will the new client/server use?
Javascript will be used as Brick Hill's new scripting language.
Will I be able to keep my sets?
The bricks inside the set file will be converted to the new brk file format when loaded into the new workshop. Scripts will not be converted.
My outfit wont load!
This isn't a question and the old legacy client will only receive security updates if needed. Outfits broke when the site was updated. I'd rather focus on the new client instead of fixing the legacy client.
What is the performance of the new client compared to the legacy client?
The performance has improved greatly. The new client and the new server run much faster when compared to their legacy counterparts. Physics and networking are now independent from the frames per second, which can also finally go over twenty. Performance has been one of my biggest focuses when working on the new client.
Will the new client be able to load hats?
Yes.
Will the new client be able to load heads?
Yup.
Will the new client be able to load tools?
Positive.
Will the new client be able to load shirts?
Nope. Just kidding. It can.
