You aren't able to disable the shading effect but if your set's lighting is terrible then you should try increasing the baseplate size to account for that. The baseplate has 4 point lights on each side and this is how your bricks are lit up. If your set is bigger than the baseplate size then increase the size of the baseplate for lighting to reach. Increasing or decreasing sun intensity can also help with this
