If you don't know what node-hill is, please check here:
https://www.brick-hill.com/forum/thread/107117/
This thread is meant to serve as a feature request / FAQ kind of deal.
Anyways, here's all that I've implemented so far:
- Joining games [Creating IPV6 servers]
- Kicking
- Authentication
- Setting up environment variables (baseplate, sky color, etc)
- Chatting
I've also discovered that the client can render any hex colors, by simply doing <color:UPPERCASEHEX>mymessage
Along with that, you can also do: \c0-9 to render certain preset color codes.
I personally am not a fan of that <color:> format (especially with it being picky that it requires uppercase) so I made node-hill automatically converts \c6ccad0 (6ccad0 being the hex) to the <color:> format, it works with uppercase and lowercase. And personally It's much more easier to remember.
I plan to change all chat user colors based on their rank (admin = red chat colors, saint brick = gold, etc).
I fixed a client bug that allowed you to use something other than your username (won't disclose too much info on it).
Implemented a security patch after my friend discovered a problem with the way I send packets to the client
(Nothing too severe, but was definitely a major issue)
That's all so far, I plan to implement map loading (shouldn't be too hard), and players (the hardest part) very soon.
Please leave any feedback / suggestions / questions here and I'll be sure to answer them.
